- Contents: This introductory book is in seven parts, with just one part devoted to current, past and future climates. It is beautifully illustrated. The first six chapters treat some of the main aspects of weather forecasting - atmospheric pressure and its distributions, wind, atmospheric moisture, clouds, precipitation, air masses and fronts, disturbances such as cyclones, lightning, thunder, tornadoes, storms, and hurricanes. There is a chapter devoted to forecasting and one to two human induced effects, namely air pollution and heat islands (cities).
